Jeffrey H. Taylor & Associates has been selected to complete a regulatory audit of Lee’s Master Plan and land use regulations, draft the Energy Chapter for the Master Plan, and draft amendment(s) to regulatory language for the Planning Board and community to consider. The audit will examine the intersection between community energy policies and local regulations, and will highlight local energy conservation and sustainability issues that should be addressed in the Master Plan and the land use regulations.~ ~~

As part of the project, Jeffrey H. Taylor & Associates will meet with Lee officials including the Planning Board, the Local Energy Committee, the Agricultural Commission and the community-at-large to review local energy policy documents that articulate the community’s energy goals. Based on the findings of the regulatory audit, Jeffrey H. Taylor & Associates will work with the Energy Committee and Planning Board to identify local energy conservation strategies and recommendations. These items would then be incorporated into a draft energy section suitable for inclusion in the Lee’s Master Plan. Based on the priorities identified in the regulatory audit, the firm will work with the Town to prioritize and draft amendments to the land use regulations for Planning Board consideration. Initial findings will be presented at 6:00 on Monday January 24th during the Selectmen’s meeting.~ The public is encouraged to attend.~~

The initial audit and draft of the Energy Chapter are slated for completion by summer 2011. Proposed regulatory changes could be reviewed and voted on as early as Town Meeting day 2012.
