Wild & Windy
You will be all snug and dry as you enjoy songs, books and a craft about wild and windy weather.
Thursday, July 31; 10:30 a.m. - My Five Senses
What are the five senses? Listen to some great stories and then touch some slimy stuff and listen to cool sounds.
For Grades 1-4
Wednesday, July 23; 3-4 p.m. - Turtle Art
In this program led by artist, Caroline West, learn about the endangered sea turtle. Then, using watercolor and cellophane, create a beautiful turtle scene. Please register.
Wednesday, August 6; 3-4 p.m. - Build with K'Nex
Drop by and use our K'nex building sets to build cool stuff with interlocking rods, connectors, gears, wheels and pulleys. Just use your imagination. Please register.
Tuesday, July 29; 6:30 p.m. - Make a pinwheel
A pinwheel is a machine that uses wind as an energy source to make it spin. Drop by and learn about simple machines and then make a cool pinwheel. This program is for kids in grades 1-4 and their favorite adults. Please register.

Thursday, August 7; 10:30 a.m. - Magician Peter Boie
Lee Safety Complex
All program participants are invited to be entertained by magician Peter Boie. This amazing, humorous and interactive show is sure to be great fun for all ages. Afterwards, join us at the library for refreshments and free books, courtesy of the Friends of the Lee Public Library.

Read to Ride at Rye Airfield Skatepark
The library is participating in Rye Airfield's READ TO RIDE program. Readers have a chance to earn a FREE day pass to the park. All you need to do is read 5 books and do one of the following for each:
*Write a short essay
*Talk about the book with a librarian
*Draw a picture about the book
Participants will receive a Read to Ride sheet. When 5 books have been read, reviewed and stamped with a library stamp, they can redeem the completed sheet at the Airfield. Please call ahead (659-2626) to make sure a librarian is available to meet with you to discuss/review your books.
