News from the Fire Department...
Welcome to Summer, I think. We certainly have seen ample rain this season but at least it has come in beneficial amounts for local farms. Times like these make it easier to forget about outdoor fire safety, but we are not through the summer season. Weather patterns can change rapidly and we always stand the chance of a dry latter half of the warmer weather so please exercise caution if things dry out. Lieutenant Nemet has been hard at work updating the Lee Fire website to include information to links on fire safety, tips, and the local fire danger. Please check it out if you get the chance, there are many FAQ's and guides.
The Lee Fire /Rescue Department has to say farewell to two very active members this summer. Captain Mark DeRocchi is off to teach at West Point Military Academy, and Firefighter Dan Brothwell is off to the state of Missouri to begin a new chapter of his career. We all wish these two individuals and their families the best of luck. The fire department will miss the efforts of these tireless individuals.
Please don't wait until Fire Prevention Week to come and see us, we would love to have visitors come by to see what we're all about! The station is manned by two officers Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We're here for you and would like to hear what you think.
We are made up of your neighbors providing an essential service to the community. If you think that you would like to be a part of this great department, come in and get aquainted with the staff. We would be happy to answer questions you might have.
Thank you,
--
