The Town Administrator is responsible for the daily operations of the Selectmen’s office and represents the
Selectmen in planning, implementing and maintaining effective customer relations in the town of Lee.
The Selectmen’s office is made up of the Town Administrator, Town Treasurer, Town Bookkeeper, Town Secretary
and Building Maintenance.
They are responsible for the administration and financial management of the town’s budget as
voted at town meeting, personnel policies, and procedures of the town and maintenance of all town buildings.
Additional responsibilities are organizing and maintaining accurate data, processing of exemptions, abatements,
current use, appeals to Board of Tax and Land Appeal and all other responsibilities as stated by statutes
regarding assessing and appraisal of taxable property.
The Board of Selectmen is, by statute, the assessor of
the town but they work with and in conjunction with Rob Dix, the Town's assessor. Along, with these duties, the Board of
Selectmen must submit many financial reports to the State of New Hampshire’s Department of Revenue.
These reports are the basis for appropriation of school funding and setting the town’s tax rate.
