Lee Center Road Safety Audit

Beginning in the Fall of 2020, a group of Senior UNH Civil Engineering students, under the direction of their Faculty Advisor and Lee resident Dr. Kyle Kwiatkowski, conducted a Road Safety Audit of the Lee Center Intersection. Areas of study included lines of sight, speeds on Rt. 155, pedestrian/cyclist traffic, crossing traffic, and lack of signs/signals. NH DOT was also involved in overseeing the project. Jesse Jakubajtys, the student Project Manager, presented their final report to the Lee Select Board on Monday night. Although this was a school project, it definitely brought forward the many issues associated with that intersection and possible ways to resolve them. The picture represents their recommendation, if such a project was to move forward.
