Calls for Service:
- Performed 42 directed patrols and business checks.
- Performed 29 motor vehicle stops, including 13 for speed.
- The wind it was blowing and trouble was brewing. A roof shed some shingles with damage ensuing. We took a report of cars that were marred. We were really quite grateful no people were scarred.
- Responded with Lee Fire for 4 fire alarm activations.
- Responded with the Lee Fire and McGregor Ambulance, to 13 medical aid calls.
- A fire reported burning out in the wood, electrical in nature is truly not good. Eversource called to come as fast as they could, to help with the problem as we knew that they would. Fire put out and power now good, everything seems just as it should.
- Responded to a disabled motor vehicle call.
- Responded to 12 motor vehicle accidents.
- Wayward water, beyond bubbling, gone to gushing, source suspicious. Investigated with interest, found to be familiar, no news to neighbors. Common commotion that repeats when it rains. Seems like a situation someone would wonder why water would reliably rematerialize with wet weather, weird.
- Responded to 9 alarm activations.
- Served paperwork to 2 residents.
- A 911 caller is upset and mad, a tailgater passed them. Really! You cad! Not enough info to catch up with the dude. We’d like to suggest that he shouldn’t drive rude.
- Investigated 2 abandoned motor vehicles.
- Conducted 16 residence checks.
- Call reporting a tree on fire near Stepping Stones and Sheep Road. Responded and found the flames had invited more than the tree to the bonfire, a pole and wires joined too. What’s next, a burning bush? Maybe a voice will explain this crazy weather. Good grief!
- Assisted with 2 motor vehicle lockouts.
- Assisted other agencies on 12 occasions.
- Call from a business about a disheveled male, acting quite odd and looking frail. The person’s behavior had people unnerved. We went over to see what the situation deserved. Upon our arrival the man had left, but now someone inside was reporting a theft. We watched all the footage and finally found, the property missing was in the lot on the ground.
- Discussed a tenant issue with a landlord.
- Took a report of a dog bite.
- Driver in the circle calling in a hazard, part of a phone pole has caused cars to gather. It’s said to be big enough to “mess up a car”, but one person alone could move it afar. The pole was removed, traffic flow was restored. The crazy dang circle contributes again to the found property horde.
- Assisted Lee Fire with an odor investigation of CO2.
- Conducted 3 welfare checks.
- Resident reluctant to return to residence requesting response. Person perceives a possibility peeper from previous evening entered the home. Relieved to report residence remained safely secure and sans signs of suspect or shady shenanigans.
- Received 6 motor vehicle complaints.
- Handled 5 property related calls.
- A business called about a woman present for hours. She was behaving strangely, their concern became ours. Witnesses say she was stuffing her pockets. A name check showed she was on several dockets. According to staff she did start to pay, but before it completed instead ran away. Waiting for videos before we go acting, based on its content warrants perhaps we’ll be drafting.
- Responded to 2 calls for struck deer.
- Conducted follow up on 3 cases.
- Business phoning about people parked down low in the lot, wondering why they’re there. Wish we would work out what’s what. Approached auto, observed occupants, busy in back seat, initiated interaction, confirmed canoodling consensual, requested relocation on behalf of business.
- Removed 7 road hazards (all tree parts and pieces).
- Notified of a 988 crisis line call.
- Plow truck pushing precipitation, purportedly pulled up a pile of wire which was resting roadside. The wire wound up woefully wound around the plow. Possibility power is on is primary problem. Enlisted Eversource’s efforts to ensure no energy emergency and eventually end the entanglement.
- Conducted 2 civil stand bys.
- Assisted citizens on 19 occasions.
- During the course of checking a lot, we witnessed a car parked in a spot. A car parked in a spot isn’t that odd, but after one in the morning… it caused us to prod.  A brief conversation would quickly expose, the person pulled over due to a bloody nose.
- Investigated 2 suspicious vehicles.
- Entered a warrant into NCIC.
- Shopkeeper shaken by someone shouting and swearing, suspect saying seller should speed up, sale so slow she should split. After the tirade transpired the transgressor tried taking things, then testily tossed them toward the teller, turned and took off. Viewing video, vying to validate victim, and verify vehicle of visibly vexed, hostile human.
- Responded with Lee Fire for a burst pipe flooding a home.
- Took a missing person report.
- Here we go again, two more calls from separate stores stating shifty suspects starting stuff with staff and shoppers. One is mooching money making many mutter and move. Another absconded with alcohol, began boozing in bathroom before being belligerent. Thief then trespassed.
- Responded to 3 suspicious activity calls.
- Responded with Lee Fire for a residential lockout.
- The big story this week was the wind and the rain, ripping through trees without sign of wane. At our last count we’d addressed forty-four, but seriously at that point it could have been more. After sawing and hauling the trees and debris, the roads were all opened and traveled with ease. We offer our thanks to all of the crew, it was a team effort and we’re thankful for you.
