Lee Police Activity Log for 1/24/23 to 1/31/23:

Calls for Service:
- Performed 47 directed patrols and business checks.
- Performed 24 motor vehicle stops, including 10 for speed.
- Made 4 stops for Jessica’s Law violation (snow on car roof).
- A caller reporting, hearing music not faint; was looking to file, a formal complaint. The music was loud, and invading his space; his major complaint, was the really loud bass. It’s all about bass, or so we are told; but at the wrong volume, it gets pretty old. A chat with the maestro, quickly settled things down; the volume no longer, causing neighbors to frown.
- Registered a sex offender.
- Responded to 2 reports of vehicles off the road.
- Provided fingerprinting for 2 residents.
- Road hazard call, into 911 made; lights out by the circle, has traffic delayed. It’s not something new, they’d been down all day; we again were assured, that the crew’s on their way. We wish they would hurry, it’s caused such dismay; they were finally fixed, Hip-Hip Hooray!!!
- Performed a VIN verification.
- Responded with Lee Fire for a fire alarm activation.
- Addressed 10 calls for trees/wires down.
- After the storms, when the power came back; small fires had started, with smoke burning black. It seems that the fires, did mainly abound; in various areas, in a campground. We contacted electric, and opened a ticket; explaining with fires, it’s urgent they fix it.
- Responded with the Lee Fire and McGregor Ambulance, to 10 medical aid calls.
- Responded to 2 disabled motor vehicle calls.
- Responded to 10 motor vehicle accidents.
- A kind neighbor rang, about a cat they’ve been feeding; they’re growing concerned, some care it is needing. It’s been nearly two weeks, still going unclaimed; so prowling the area, this kitty remained. It’s a black cat on Lee Hook, that’s been roaming around; we’re hoping its family soon will be found.
- Provided traffic control.
- Participated in a school safety drill.
- Responded to 3 alarm activations.
- A package went missing, this person reported; they need a report, to get it all sorted. The item was purchased, and shipped to a friend; the thing never landed, they found in the end. Beware those porch pirates, they're out and about; but that wasn't the case here, as we found out.
- Served paperwork to 7 residents/businesses.
- Investigated an abandoned motor vehicle.
- Conducted 10 residence checks.
- A 911 call, for a truck stuck in snow; it was easy to see, they needed a tow. It’s hardly their fault, the roads were a mess; we’d called many times, but made no progress. “The roads need to be treated”, we’d call up and say; they finally came out, but there was quite a delay. It was really busy, the weather was bad; we do understand, but to see them were glad.
- Assisted with a motor vehicle lockout.
- Responded with Lee Fire for a blown transformer.
- Assisted other agencies on 10 occasions.
- A neighbor reporting, something odd that showed up; just days ago, someone dropped off a truck. It came on the weekend, and they gave it some time; but it soon became clear, it was just left behind. We then discovered, it was more like a camper; but a lacking of leads would be a big damper. Aside from abandoned, a problem we had; it was blocking a hydrant, and that’s really bad. So move it we did, now it’s not in the way; we’re still seeking the owner, at the end of the day.
- Assisted Lee Fire with 2 odor investigations of CO2.
- Conducted 2 welfare checks.
- Received 3 motor vehicle complaints.
- They called 911, for a pole hit by a truck; that had snapped in two, but was standing (with luck). The driver was injured, but out of the car; calls kept coming in, four now so far. The crash was a doozy, and knocked out the power; the road it was closed, for nearly twelve hours. The guy who was driving, proved that he couldn’t; and now has a date, that he otherwise wouldn’t. Take a lesson from him, and don’t drink and drive; there are lots of safe ways, to make sure you arrive.
- Responded with Lee Fire to a report of a burning smell when power was restored.
- Handled 3 property related calls.
- Responded to 2 calls for struck deer.
- A well-check request, to check on a parent; soon revealed trouble, it was quite apparent. The power was out, and that’s problematic, no power supply is truly traumatic. The person relies, on a special machine; to work in their body, and keep their blood clean. We made several calls, and found them a place; to ride out the storm in a much safer space.
- Conducted follow up on 2 cases.
- Removed 2 road hazards.
- Assisted citizens on 6 occasions.
- Investigated 5 suspicious vehicles.
- Try as we may, we can’t be everywhere; it’s nice to have help, and people who care. Officers from, a neighboring town, were watching a guy, act like a clown. A delivery truck, had caused him to wait; and clearly it made him rather irate. He yelled at the driver, grew salty and mean; it was hard not to notice, he was causing a scene. They thought it was over, when he picked up his food; but he circled back round, still yelling and rude. Before it continued, or got any worse; the officers told him, to not yell and curse. That’s all it took, to shorten his stay; the guy quickly left, and went on his way. Thanks to these officers, for your intervention; we’d be completely remiss, to not give you mention.
