Message from the Fire Chief

I would like to introduce myself to those of you whom I have not had an opportunity to meet. In 1987 my family moved to the Town of Lee where I was enrolled in the Mast Way Elementary School. I graduated from Oyster River High School in 1999. Prior to graduating from Oyster River I joined the Lee Fire & Rescue Department in 1998. While serving as a member of the department I have received training through the New Hampshire Fire Academy and the National Fire Academy earning certifications in Firefighter Level I and II, Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Hazardous Materials Decontamination, Hazardous Materials Technician, Certified Career Firefighter, Incident Command Systems, Fire Inspector Level I, Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist Level I, and a host of other training programs.

In 2004 I was hired as a full time firefighter for the Town of Lee in order to provide better coverage for the residents Monday through Friday; a time where most of our volunteers are committed to their full time jobs. In 2007 I was promoted to Lieutenant and in 2010 to the rank of Captain. In my nine years working for the department full time I have served on the Town of Lee Safety Committee, Emergency Action Plan Committee, and Hazardous Mitigation Committee. I was appointed  on January 1, 2014 as the Town's first, full-time Fire Chief .

The Lee Fire and Rescue Department is comprised of a very proud group of dedicated people who take the time from their busy schedules and families to aid the residents of Lee, as well as other communities. I would like to begin by thanking them for all of their hard work and continued effort to make this department and community the safest it can be. I stand by my conviction that the future of this department lies in its membership. I sincerely appreciate the trust placed upon me by the Town of Lee Select Board.

As chief of the department I will work tirelessly to continually improve our ability to provide aid to those in need, while focusing on safe and effective measures to mitigate the broad range of incidents our members respond to. Part of this process will include the development of a comprehensive Strategic Plan, which will help ensure our residents are receiving appropriate and cost effective services. If you would like to learn more about the department please feel free to visit me at the Public Safety Complex.
